Lorenzo, let's begin with a brief introduction to Studio Transit for those who may not be familiar with the company. What kind of work do you do, and what sets you apart?

Studio Transit is a Roman company with a solid fifty-year history in architectural design. We primarily focus on architectural design, both public and private, in the fields of commercial, residential, and infrastructure. Our team consists of approximately 30 professionals, including architects and engineers, who work collaboratively. Research is the fundamental principle of our operation, and our name, "Transit," originates from our historical involvement in infrastructure-related activities.

Very interesting. Now, tell us about a specific project you are currently working on.

I'm referring to the Year Quarter project for Angelini Pharmaceuticals, which originated from a competition won in 2006. Over the years, we have developed and completed phases 1 and 2 of the project, and we are currently working on phase 3, which is a natural extension of the previous phases. It's a very unique and exciting project.

It's interesting to note that many projects of this nature are divided into phases. What does project coherence mean for you in such a fragmented context?

Project unity is essential. Often, these projects in multiple phases start as a single vision, which is then divided to allow work to continue while other phases are in progress. This organization can be complex, but our goal has always been to maintain the original idea, even though urban planning issues or emerging technologies may bring about changes. New technologies have helped us realize the initial vision, especially in terms of design.

Greenery seems to be a key element in this project. How do you integrate greenery into your projects?

Greenery is not simply integrated into our projects; it is an integral part right from the beginning. This project was conceived with nature as one of the main architectural elements. Greenery is what encloses the urban lot, creating a significant connection between the old building and our new development. This green element extends from within the lot to the public space, creating an interaction between private and public spaces. It's a trend that sees spaces becoming more permeable and open to nature.

That's truly fascinating. How have you specifically used greenery in this project?

We have incorporated over 300 square meters of green technology, including stabilized green walls and green walls in planters, within the project. This choice is based on new scientific trends that reveal how greenery can enhance the quality of spaces and the well-being of users. Additionally, our project, Pierquarters for Angelini, is one of the few buildings in Rome to achieve Platinum certification, demonstrating how greenery has contributed to this achievement.

To conclude this conversation, what is a keyword that describes your approach to design?

Research. Research is at the heart of our work philosophy. We constantly seek new solutions, materials, and technologies to create spaces that enhance people's well-being. Research extends not only to technological aspects but also to the creation of spaces that are more flexible and adaptable to modern needs. Studio Transit stands out for its innovative vision in the field of architecture, with a focus on research and sustainability. The Angelini Pharmaceuticals project serves as an excellent example of how the company has successfully integrated green technology and nature into their projects, improving space quality and contributing to Platinum certification. The keyword for Studio Transit is "research," a fundamental value that guides their ongoing commitment to innovation and the creation of better spaces for people.
