In a historical moment where sustainability and urban regeneration play a key role in the development of our cities, we had the opportunity to converse with Gennaro Columpsi, founder of Studio Architetto Gennaro Columpsi, to delve into his commitment to creating innovative and environmentally friendly living spaces. Gennaro revealed how his studio is contributing to transforming the concept of living, placing a new emphasis on greenery and urban regeneration.
Certainly, Giorgio. Studio Architetto Gennaro Columpsi is primarily dedicated to residential architecture in the private sector, with a strong focus on urban regeneration and the integration of greenery in both outdoor and indoor spaces. The pandemic has further accentuated the importance of these aspects, pushing us to design livable areas that extend the concept of living beyond the domestic walls.
Yes, I would like to mention two projects that best represent our philosophy. The first, concluding in 2019, received the CasaClima certification for its focus on energy saving and the quality of outdoor spaces. The second, still under construction, pushes the idea of greenery even further with a "horizontal forest", creating staggered terraces designed specifically to host plants and contribute to urban biodiversity.
Indoor greenery has become a key component in our projects. We experiment with new technologies, such as lamps for plants and advanced irrigation systems, to ensure that these integrated green spaces improve not just the aesthetics but also the air quality and livability of interiors.
Exactly. In our latest project, we have implemented a greenery management system that goes beyond mere maintenance. Indoor green walls and flowerbeds on elevated floors are collectively cared for, making greenery a fundamental and integrated element in the living fabric of the condominium.
Absolutely. For us, urban regeneration means enhancing existing fabrics, avoiding uncontrolled expansion and promoting instead the requalification of already built spaces. It's a way to combat real estate speculation and to improve the quality of urban life, creating sustainable and inclusive environments.
We are convinced that this is the path to follow. It's our contribution to the community and the environment, trying to leave a better world than we found it.
Thank you, Giorgio, for the opportunity to have this dialogue.
