Marcello, tell us a bit about MDU Architetti.

MDU Architetti was born from a passion for architecture and the desire to make a mark on the urban landscape with significant works. Our strength lies in the ability to interpret and transform the scale of the architectural object, without neglecting the value of masterplans.

What projects have you been involved in recently?

• Swimming Stadium in Taranto: An ambitious project that will engage us for the Mediterranean Games of 2026. It is a work that integrates into the city of Taranto through its terraces, a direct dialogue with the urban and natural context.
• Church of the Visitation in Prato: Building a church today in Italy is a challenge that involves a deep dialogue not only with the state but also with the Vatican. It is a project that deeply involved us, with the inauguration scheduled for next Easter.

And the role of greenery in your projects?

The green is essential, but it must be understood in a deep and not superficial way. For us, greenery must be functional to architecture and contribute to the life of the city, rather than being a mere decorative element.

Is there a concept that guides your design approach?

"Collision" is the word that sums up our approach. Every architectural intervention, as much as it may enrich the landscape, always takes something away. The important thing is that this subtraction transforms into a positive contribution, into added value for the context and the community.
